TESTIMONIAL
We consider simulation one of the three legs of our training strategy — didactic, simulation, and clinical instruction.

“CALIFIA® is at the core of our training program. In Africa one of the challenges of training perfusionists is the limited number of cases. With simulation we are able to make up for the gap using CALIFIA. We consider simulation one of the three legs of our training strategy: didactic, simulation, and clinical instruction.”
The one-week rotation CT surgical fellows spend with us to learn about CPB. We put them behind the pump and teach them about CPB by having them experience simple principles and challenges.
We host students from another school in Kenya. The Karen School does not have enough clinical cases for their students. They have been relentlessly asking us to provide clinical training for their students. While I don’t have sufficient cases to provide clinical training to their students and ours, I have offered to take two of their students for the entire month for simulation training.
Several classes of nurse anesthetists or clinical officers have completed our program across Kenya and Rwanda. We continue to receive applications from prospective students across Nigeria, Malawi, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe. The reach of this training extends far beyond our walls, and CALIFIA® is at the center of that mission.
